St Kitts passport requirements for US and Canadian applicants
For US and Canadian citizens
Your file is usually straightforward: an FBI or RCMP police certificate, tax returns and bank statements that already exist. The main work is the source-of-funds narrative tracing the US$250,000 to its lawful origin. Your US or Canadian status is unaffected; both countries permit dual citizenship, and US citizens keep FBAR and FATCA obligations regardless.
For US and Canada residents on another passport
You need police certificates from your home country and from the US or Canada, and the unit looks closely at residence history if your nationality is restricted. Disclose any previous US or Canadian visa refusal. Disclose everything at the eligibility screening; a refusal is logged in the ECCIRA database and blocks the other four islands too.
St Kitts restricted nationalities and grounds for refusal
Restricted nationalities. Nationals of Afghanistan, Iran, North Korea, Russia, Belarus, Sudan and Yemen are restricted or excluded, with limited exceptions for people who have lived outside those countries for ten or more years. The list changes; ask us, it depends on your residence history.
Why applications fail. An incomplete or contradictory source-of-funds trail; an undisclosed visa refusal, arrest or investigation found by the due diligence provider; criminal or sanctions matches, including EU-sanctioned persons the programme must exclude from September 2026; dependants who fail the dependency test. Since ECCIRA, a refusal by one unit is visible to all five.
What we do. We screen you before the non-refundable US$10,000 due diligence fee is paid, build the source-of-funds file to the standard the vetting firms expect, and prepare you for the interview.

Frequently asked questions
What are the basic St Kitts passport requirements?
Be 18 or over, have no criminal record, prove a lawful source of funds, pass enhanced due diligence and a mandatory interview with biometrics, and contribute from US$250,000 to the Sustainable Island State Contribution or buy approved real estate from US$325,000. Nationals of seven restricted countries may not qualify. No residence, language test or renunciation is required.
Which family members can I include in a St Kitts and Nevis application?
Your spouse, financially dependent children under 30, parents aged 55 and over, and siblings in defined cases. A family of up to four is covered by the US$250,000 contribution; each further dependant adds US$25,000 if under 18 or US$50,000 if 18 or over. Anyone aged 16 or over pays US$7,500 due diligence. Dependants can be added after approval.
Do I have to attend an interview?
Yes. The interview is mandatory for the principal applicant and at the unit's discretion for dependants aged 16 and over. It is held virtually or at an approved location, and biometrics are captured at the same time. We prepare every client for it. Since ECCIRA, all five Caribbean programmes interview and capture biometrics; no exemption applies.
