The UWI route saves this family US$20,000 against the NDF and adds a year of university tuition. Adding a parent aged 55+ as a fifth or sixth NDF dependant costs US$50,000 on the donation, US$10,000 processing and US$4,000 due diligence; on the UWI route the same parent adds only the processing and due diligence. A financially dependent child aged 18–30 costs US$4,000 due diligence in every example.

Antigua CBI payment schedule, refundable fees and professional fees

Non-refundable before a decision. Due diligence for every applicant aged 12 and over, and 10% of the government processing fee, are paid when the licensed agent files: US$9,500 for a single applicant, US$15,500 for a family of four with young children. A refusal does not return this money. Our own fee, paid at engagement, is not contingent on the outcome either; we tell you before you engage us whether we think the file will succeed.

Paid after approval in principle. The donation (US$230,000 NDF or US$260,000 UWI) and the remaining 90% of the processing fee are paid only after the CIU approves the application in principle, within the deadline in the approval letter. On the real estate route the purchase completes into escrow under the ECCIRA rules.

Passport fees. US$300 per person when the certificate of registration issues. Passports are valid five years and renewed for ten, with biometrics at renewal.

Agent and legal fees. The programme accepts files only from licensed agents. We quote one written fee covering our preparation, the Antiguan agent's filing fee and interview support; it varies with family size and complexity. Some quotes fold agent fees into a 'government fee' line; the figures on this page are the complete official schedule.

Payment. All government fees are in US dollars by bank transfer to the CIU or escrow. We can accept some of our own fees in cryptocurrency; government fees only in limited cases through a personal exchange, assessed individually. Figures verified 27 September 2026.

Antigua and Barbuda citizenship cost for US and Canadian applicants

For US and Canadian citizens

Budget US$248,800 alone or US$264,700 for a family of four in government money, plus our fee. If you later open an Antiguan bank account it is reported to the IRS under FATCA and belongs on your FBAR; a Canadian stays taxable in Canada until residential ties are severed. None of this changes the cost, but it belongs in the same conversation.

For US and Canada residents on another passport

The same schedule applies. What differs is the source-of-funds documentation: money that originated in India, Nigeria, Vietnam or China must be traced to a lawful origin, which can add weeks and some bank costs. For five or six applicants the UWI Fund at US$260,000 usually costs less than the NDF with additional dependant contributions, as the example above shows; additional dependants aged 18 or over carry the highest NDF contribution, US$50,000 each.

Frequently asked questions

What is the total Antigua passport cost for a single applicant?

About US$248,800 in government money: US$230,000 NDF donation, US$10,000 processing fee, US$8,500 due diligence and US$300 for the passport. Add our professional and agent fees, quoted in writing, plus small costs for police certificates, medicals, translations and courier. Only US$9,500 of the government total is at risk before a decision.

How much does Antigua citizenship cost for a family of four?

About US$264,700 for two adults and two children under 12: US$230,000 donation, US$20,000 processing, US$8,500 plus US$5,000 due diligence, US$1,200 passports. Children aged 12 to 17 add US$2,000 each in due diligence, and financially dependent children aged 18 to 30 add US$4,000. That is only US$15,900 more than a single applicant, the programme's principal cost advantage.

Is any of the Antigua citizenship cost refundable?

The due diligence fees and the 10% processing deposit are not refundable, whatever the outcome. The donation and the 90% balance of the processing fee are paid only after approval in principle and are not refunded afterwards. On the real estate route the US$300,000 is an asset you may resell after five years, but government fees on top are not returned.

When does the UWI Fund cost less than the National Development Fund?

The NDF at US$230,000 is cheaper for one to four people. From five applicants the UWI Fund at US$260,000 usually costs less: a family of six with four children aged 6 to 17 pays US$319,300 on the UWI route against US$339,300 on the NDF, and gets a year of tuition. If any extra dependant is 18 or over, the NDF surcharge is US$50,000, so the UWI saving grows.

Do the fees differ for US or Canadian residents?

No. The CIU charges the same schedule regardless of nationality or where you live. What differs is the paperwork: US residents need an FBI certificate and Canadian residents an RCMP check, and residents on other passports need certificates from their home country too. Some nationalities face enhanced due diligence, which can lengthen the timeline but does not change the published fees.
