Montenegro Temporary Residency By Investment Requirements

If you have taken advantage of the 90-day stay in Montenegro, you can apply for a temporary residency permit within that period. Once you have applied, you can stay in Montenegro for over 90 days until you hear from the Ministry of Immigration whether they have accepted you as a temporary resident.

En route to permanent residency in Montenegro, you must first acquire a temporary residency permit. Foreign citizens can stay in Montenegro for over 90 days with a temporary residency permit as long as they can meet one of the following conditions:

  • Family reunification
  • Secondary Schooling or study.
  • International student exchanges or other programs for younger students.
  • Specialization, vocational training, and practical training.
  • Scientific research work.
  • Medical treatment.
  • Humanitarian reasons.
  • Guiding religious services.
  • Immovable property ownership in Montenegro.
  • You are financially stable with proof from bank statements.
  • You have a planned residence.
  • You have medical insurance.
  • You have submitted evidence justifying the application for temporary residence.
  • You hold a valid passport or identity card.
  • You are not prohibited from entering and residing in Montenegro
  • No criminal record in your home country and Montenegro
  • You do not pose a threat to public order or public health.

Montenegro Permanent Residency By Investment Requirements

  • Montenegro can grant you a PR if you have legally lived under temporary residency in the country for 5 years. Unique circumstances might be an option for you if you are looking for a PR but don’t want to wait the whole 5 years to get it. These conditions can apply to you for humanitarian reasons or if you can propose something of interest to Montenegro.
