Antigua and Barbuda Citizenship by Investment New Pricing
Antigua and Barbuda have introduced new pricing for their Citizenship by Investment Programme (CBI), effective from August 1, 2024.
This revision comes after a one-month extension of the previous pricing due to legislative delays.
While other Caribbean countries implemented their new CBI prices on July 1, Antigua’s delay led to a significant increase in last-minute applications from investors eager to secure citizenship at the earlier, lower rates, especially those who missed deadlines in other nations.
New Investment Thresholds
The updated CBI program now requires higher minimum investments across several approved options:
- Real Estate Investment: The minimum required investment is now set at $300,000. This is $25,000 less than what was initially proposed.
- UWI Fund/Higher Education: Investors must contribute $260,000, which includes processing fees. This option is designed to support educational initiatives and offers a cost-effective path to citizenship. It is available to families of six or more, with the additional benefit of a one-year free scholarship to the University of the West Indies for one family member.
- National Development Fund: The minimum contribution to this fund is $230,000, maintaining its status as one of the most economical options for obtaining Antiguan citizenship.
- Investment in Business: The requirements here remain unchanged. A single investor must contribute $1.5 million, while joint investments require a total of $5 million, with no individual investor contributing less than $400,000.
Additional Costs
Beyond these investment thresholds, applicants should also be prepared to cover various additional fees, including government processing fees, application fees, due diligence fees, and other costs such as banking fees.
